What is the ANSEA Awards?
Animation Nation launched the inaugural Animation Nation Southeast Asia (ANSEA) Awards in celebration of the festival’s 20th anniversary in 2024 (formerly known as the Lightbox SEA Animation Awards). In 2025, it has been renamed as the ANSEA Awards with a partnership category with the DreamWorks Channel. In 2026, ANSEA Awards returns again with an prestigious selected list of jury members including a three time Oscar® nominee.
The Awards is the first of its kind to open to the ten member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), with the intention to recognise animation talents in the region to an international jury and stage.

Over Cartoon Saloon’s history, Tomm has worked as Director, Art Director, Storyboarder, Animator and Illustrator across a range of the studio's projects . Tomm has directed 3 universally successful feature films. All three were nominated for Best Animated Feature at the ACADEMY AWARD® The Secret of Kells in 2010 and the spiritual follow-up, Song of the Sea in 2015. His latest feature film “Wolfwalkers” which he co-directed with Ross Stewart received several prominent critics awards including LAFCA Award and NYFCC Award as well as nominations for a Golden Globe and a Bafta and wins in several categories includingBest Director and Best Independent Feature at the 2021 Annie Awards. Both Song of the Sea and Wolfwalkers won the IFTA for best film while The Secret of Kells won best animation and rising star awards at the IFTAs.
Having completed the informal “Trilogy” of Irish folklore and history inspired films he is researching a new direction for the next cycle of features focusing on the Irish diaspora andits connections with other cultures . He is currently working as creative producer across several of Cartoon Saloon’s new film and series projects as well as refocusing on hispersonal art training , focusing on figure drawing and oil painting .
Tomm is a lifelong tattoo and comic book art enthusiast.

Lexie Chu is a producer, actor, and Founder & CEO working across animated features, original IP, and global creative ventures. A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and USC School of Cinematic Arts alumna, she has built her career across studio-scale storytelling, independent production, and industry-building platforms.
Her work spans Skydance, Netflix, Illumination, Cartoon Network, ZAG, and Asians in Animation, the global industry platform she founded. She has contributed to major animated feature and franchise pipelines including Minions, The Secret Life of Pets, Sing 2, and Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, with experience across development, production, creative strategy, and long-range slate-building.
As a producer and executive producer, Lexie develops, packages, and advances animated IP for global audiences, with a focus on ambitious stories, creative investment, and durable entertainment properties. She has served as a jury member for the NewFilmmakers Los Angeles Best of Awards and animation grant initiatives, and continues to build ventures, projects, and pathways for the next era of animation.

MARK FLANAGAN
Chair of Melbourne ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter · Access:VFX Advocate
Mark Flanagan has spent his career at the intersection of creativity, technology, and education—circling the globe in pursuit of meaningful storytelling and community building. Originally trained as an architect in Dublin, Mark pivoted into 3D art and animation at Ballyfermot College before launching his career in the UK games industry. His journey has since taken him through leading roles at Codemasters, DNEG, ILM, Pixar’s RenderMan Group, Epic Games, Netflix, and Animal Logic.
Now based in Melbourne, Mark is the Education Manager at CDW Studios, where he shapes curriculum and champions emerging talent in animation, VFX, and games. He also serves as Chair of the Melbourne ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter and is an active Access:VFX advocate, working to make the creative tech industries more inclusive and accessible.
A frequent speaker at international events such as SIGGRAPH, FMX, VIEW, and GDC, Mark remains deeply committed to mentoring and fostering learning communities wherever he goes.
